Armed forces on Monday recovered six Chinese grenades on a vital highway connecting Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar to the north of the Valley, an official said.
They said a road opening team of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force, in Bemina, during routine checkup along the Srinagar-Baramulla found six grenades of Chinese-make in a sandbag placed along the divider of the road.
“Since, there was lot of rush on the highway, the grenades were not demolished in-situ. The grenades were handed over to the police for disposal,” the officials said.
A police official said that they called the bomb disposal squad to difuse the grenades
