The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have killed a militant and recovered an AK-47 and other ammunition during an encounter in Rajouri district.
In a statement, a spokesperson said that on September 11, a joint search operation was launched by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gambir Mughlan area of the border district.
“During the search, hiding militants opened fire on the search party, which was retaliated effectively, and in the course of which one unidentified militant was slain,” the statement reads.
It reads that one AK-47 with two magazines and thirty-two rounds and a grenade was also recovered.
The police statement said that the search operation was still going on.5m
