Two railway policemen shot dead in Pulwama

Two railway police officials were killed and one was left injured on Monday after militants allegedly opened fire on them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. The incident took place near the Kakapora railway station.

An official said that two cops of railway police of Kakapora Railway station were at a tea stall outside the railway station when they were attacked by militants.

He said that in the incident both HC Surinder Singh and SI Dev Raj received critical injuries and died before reaching the hospital. Raj was shifted to tertiary care hospital Srinagar where he passed away.

Meanwhile, the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. 

Kashmir zone police in a tweet said: “Militants fired upon RPF personnel at Kakapora, #Pulwama. In this # incident, two RPF personnel sustained bullet injuries & were evacuated to the hospital, where 01 RPF personnel succumbed. Area cordoned off.”
