Armed forces on Saturday recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a vehicle on the highway in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested two persons.
A senior police officer said that a joint team of forces arrested two people who were travelling in a dumper vehicle under registration number JKO2B-0949 with arms and ammunition.
“A huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered from the vehicle which includes 2 AK 56 rifles, 8 AK mags, 10 9mm pistols, 18 pistol mags, 90 9×19 mm ammunition and 9 grenades,” he said.
The officer identified the arrested duo as Mehraj Ahmad Bhat and Zahid Nabi Dar, both from the Sambora area of Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A case under FIR NO 127/2021 Under section 7/25 IA Act 13, 16, 18B 19, 20, 38, 39, ULAP Act has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, officially concluded.
