At least three youth from Kakapora of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have been slapped with Public Safety Act for their alleged involvement in stone-pelting during the gunfight in the area in April 2021, an official said.
An official said Sameer Mushtaq Lone, Mudasir Ahmad Lone and Sameer Ahmed Lone—all residents of Kakapora have been shifted to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.
He added that the trio was already under police custody and were slapped with PSA only after their involvement in stone-pelting was verified.
Notably, three Al-Badr militants were killed in Kakapora on April 02 this year. After the gunfight, a stone-pelting incident took place in the area in which a few civilians were also injured following which several youth were arrested.
