A youth, who was shot at in his head in suburban Srinagar early last month, died at a hospital in the summer capital on Wednesday.
Unidentified gunmen had shot at 23-year-old Nadif Ahmad Khan outside his residence in Bilal Colony of Soura on December 2, last year.
Khan, had suffered grievous ‘fire arm wound’ in his head and was immediately shifted to SK Institute of Medical Science in Soura.
Doctors at the tertiary care hospital said that Khan passed away this morning after battling for life for nearly 2 months. Doctors had operated upon Khan but he remained in comma since his admission.
Khan’s body was handed over to his family for last rites this afternoon.
Police said they have registered a case and have taken up the investigation process but no arrests have been made yet.
Police along with CRPF had reached the spot and cordoned off the area to nab the gunmen who shot at Khan but were unsuccessful.
