Militants managed to give slip to armed forces after a brief shootout in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar, officials said Friday.
Kashmir police zone tweeted: “There was a brief firefight between militants and security forces at SKIMS Hospital, Bemina. Militants managed to escape taking advantage of civilian presence.”
An official said after the fire exchange, forces cordoned off the entire hospital area and conducted searches. Some reports said traffic on the vital Srinagar-Baramulla highway was also stopped after the fire exchange.
