Policeman injured in grenade blast in ‘militancy-free’ Doda

A Jammu and Kashmir policeman was injured in a blast that took place in the main town of Doda district on Monday.

A police spokesman said that unidentified men attacked a police post in Doda town. “One policeman received minor splinter injuries in the attack. Police cordoned off the area and started searches to nab the attackers,” the spokesman said.

But there were no reports of any arrests after the attack.

“According to initial reports, the incident took place at around 5 pm when unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade towards the police post guarding district police lines DPL. One policeman on duty received splinter injuries. He was immediately shifted to government medical college hospital Doda where his condition is stated to be out of danger,” the spokesman said.
