Paramilitary CRPF shoots dead Kashmiri civilian after vehicle failed to stop at check-point

A man was shot dead by the Central Reserve Police Force after a vehicle he was traveling in allegedly failed to stop his vehicle at a checkpoint in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district late on Thursday.

Official sources said that the troops of 40 battalions of CRPF had laid a check-point at Monghall Bridge this evening.

“A silver color Scorpio vehicle was asked to stop but did not do so following which CRPF men fired & one person was killed,” they said.

A police officer while confirming the death of the person said that his identity and credentials are being ascertained.
