A National Conference Parliamentarian’s son was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir over an alleged hate speech he purportedly made last year in December.
Hilal Akbar Lone, who is son of NC leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Assembly speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone, had allegedly made a hate speech which campaigning for his party during the District Development Elections in Hajin.
Hilal has been arrested under the controversial Unlawful Activities Act and is currently in detention at the Hajin police station.
Hilal, the eldest son of Akbar Lone, who represents North Kashmir constituency in the Indian Parliament, was released on Monday from MLA hostel in Srinagar, following which he was arrested by the police.
Hilal was booked under FIR number 02/2021 under sections 153 A/ 188/ 505 IPC and 13 of the Unlawful Activities Act, which was already registered at Hajin police station.
In December last year, Hilal was detained in Sumbal and was shifted by police to MLA hostel on December.
