A man was injured when suspected militants fired at police during a cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday.
A police official said that Bilal Ahmad Rather, a resident of Chairhara, Khag was injured after being hit by a bullet in his leg.
A statement issued by the police read that militants fired at forces while on an operational duty near village Lassipora in which one Rather received an injury in his leg.
“The injured is stable and the area adjacent to the place of incident is under cordon and search is going on. Credential of the injured person also being ascertained,” the police statement said.
Earlier, a joint team of army’s 62RR and SOG cordoned off Drang forests and started searches there.
