Less than 1000 Covid-19 cases in Kashmir, 99 reported on Wednesday

Jammu and Kashmir recorded 99 Covid-19 cases and zero daily deaths due to the disease on Wednesday, taking the infection tally in the union territory to 3,32,457, officials said.

Eighteen of the cases are from the Jammu division and the rest from the Kashmir division, they said.

The officials said Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 48 new cases, followed by Ganderbal with 12.

There are 946 active cases in the union territory at present, while the number of recoveries stands at 3,27,172, the officials said.

The death toll in the territory due to the pandemic stands at 4,438.

There were 49 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) cases currently, the officials added.

As per the daily information bulletin, 3,880,094 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 6,140 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 946 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 3,421,684 persons have completed the surveillance period and 446,886 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 16,308,982 samples are available. Out of 16,308,982, the number of samples tested negative stands at 15,976,426 while as 332,556 have tested positive, among them 946 persons are active, 327,172 persons have recovered and 4,438 persons have died.
