Kashmir sees over 1400 Covid-19 cases, Srinagar records lowest daily tally since second wave began

Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday witnessed 25 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 1,448 positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases to 28,423

With 25 more deaths, the death toll has reached 4,051 and 1,448 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 299,050.

Of the exact number of 299,050 cases, 184,499 are from the Kashmir division and 114,551 from the Jammu division.

Among 1,448 new cases, 995 belong to the Kashmir division while 453 are from the Jammu division, an official said, adding that the total number of positive cases in the Kashmir division has reached 184,499 including 164,208 recoveries and 2,078 deaths while a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 114,551 including 102,568 recoveries and 1,973 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 28,423 including 18,213 from the Kashmir division and 10,210 from the Jammu division.

With 2,615 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 266,576 which is 89.14 per cent of the total cases.
Pertinently, Srinagar reported 222 positive cases on Saturday, the lowest ever since the second wave of Covid-19

As per the daily information bulletin, 2,147,753 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 80,925 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 28,423 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,888,977 persons have completed the surveillance period and 145,377 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,797,513 samples are available. Out of 8,797,513, the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,498,463 while 299,050 have tested positive, among them 28,423 persons are active, 266,576 persons have recovered and 4,051 persons have died.
