Kashmir reports 5 Covid-19 deaths, 342 new infections

Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday witnessed 5 deaths due to Covid-19 while 342 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases to 5,630.

With 5 more deaths, the toll has reached 4,296 and 342 fresh positive cases reported on Friday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 314,316.

Of the exact number of 314,316 cases, 195,152 are from the Kashmir division and 119,164 from the Jammu division.

Officials said that among 342 new cases, 235 were reported from the Kashmir division while 107 from the Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in the Kashmir division has reached 195,152 including 189,430 recoveries and 2,200 deaths while a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 119,164 including 114,960 recoveries and 2,096 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir is 5,630 including 3,522 from the Kashmir division and 2,108 from the Jammu division.

With 864 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 304,390 which is 96.84 per cent of the total cases.

Meanwhile, health authorities said that that one fresh case of Mucormycosis, known as black fungus, was reported and the tally of such cases has reached 29.

As per the daily information bulletin, 2,383,500 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,766 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,630 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,144,050 persons have completed the surveillance period and 208,758 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,774,384 samples are available.

Out of 9,774,384, the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,460,068 while 314,316 have tested positive, among them 5,630 persons are active, 304,390 persons have recovered and 4,296 persons have died.
