A Jammu and Kashmir Police constable was shot dead by militants in the region’s summer capital Srinagar late on Thursday.
Constable Javeed Ahmad Kambey was shot outside his residence in Saidapora on the Dr Ali Jan road outside his residence, reports said.
Kambey sustained grievous injuries on the neck was immediately shifted to SKIMS in Soura in a critical condition.
However, the policeman succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
Militant outfit, The Resistance Front, took responsibility for the attack in a social media post.
