Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant associate of Jaish-e-Muhammad in Tral of Anantnag district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that based on specific information about the presence of militants in Larow Jagir village of Tral, police along with Army’s 42RR and 180Bn CRPF launched a search operation.
During the search Muzamil Qadir Bhat was arrested, police said, adding that incriminating material of Jaish was recovered from his possession.
“On his disclosure, one hand grenade was also recovered which he had concealed in the compound of his home. Preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested militant associate was in contact with militant commanders of JeM in Tral,” police said.
