The armies of India and Pakistan Monday afternoon exchanged gunfire along the Line of Control in the Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Reports said Indian army and Pakistani Rangers resorted to firing at the forward posts, with both blaming the other for the breach of truce.
“The fire was heavily and effectively retaliated by own troops,” a report quoting Indian army sources said.
There were no immediate reports about injury or casualty.
A senior police official told a news agency that they received information about cross border firing in Teethwal area.
