Grenade hurled in Kashmir’s Old City, five wounded

Three armed forces personnel and two civilians were injured after suspected militants hurled a grenade on them in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar on Friday.

The attack took place in Nawa Bazaar area of Srinagar’s Old City.

A senior police officer said that two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force troopers and a policeman were among the five injured who received splinter injuries after militants lobbed a grenade on a joint team of forces.

All the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off and searches are going on.
