Grenade blast outside Srinagar Gurdwara, forces launch searches

In yet another attack by pro-freedom insurgents in summer capital Srinagar, a grenade was hurled at the Indian paramilitary troops late on Wednesday afternoon..

Indian government forces said that suspected insurgents militants lobbed a grenade towards Central Reserve Police Force troops in Rainawari area of Srinagar. However, no loss of life or injury was reported.

The attack took place outside Chatti Padhsahi Gurudwara, the biggest place of worship for Sikhs in Kashmir. 

Immediately after the attack, armed forces sealed the area and launched searches to trace the suspected insurgents. But, officials said the attackers managed to flee. 

Even as the police claim that there were no armed freedom fighters in Srinagar, there have been a spate of attacks in the past two months.
