The Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh on Sunday said that the militants involved in the killing of a police sub-inspector at Srinagar’s Khanyar have been identified.
Talking to reporters on the of wreath laying ceremony of the deceased cop at DPL Srinagar, the DGP said that “all the previous modules of militants involved in pistol shooting were wiped out”, while it seems that a new group has been formed.
“I would not like to disclose about the outfit or module behind today’s attack but the perpetrators have been identified,” he said.
Sub Inspector Arshid Ahmad was shot dead from a point blank rage by militants.
A CCTV footage of the attack shows a man firing three shot at a sub inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police as he walks in a lane in Khanyar.
The police officer died at SKIMS in Soura.
