A Central Reserve Police Force trooper was dead while another was injured when two bike-borne militants attacked them in the Maisuma locality of Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar on Monday.
An official said that one among the two CRPF troopers who was critically injured in the militant attack at Maisuma succumbed to his injury in a hospital, an official said.
Medical Superintendent of SMHS Kanwaljeet Singh said that one of the CRPF troopers, identified as Vishal, who was critically injured has succumbed, while another one is stable.
A police official said that the attack in Maisuma was the first of its kind in the past 16-18 years. “2 youths on a bike were spotted. Pillion rider opened fire on CRPF-Police Naka from his short-size AK rifle. Of 2 CRPF men, 1 succumbed,” he said.
