Two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force troopers died separately in two incidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
A CRPF trooper was found hanging in his official quarter in a suspected case of suicide in Jammu.
A CRPF spokesman said that one of their men posted in Group Center of CRPF Bantalab was found hanging in the officials’ quarters, where he resided. The official said that it was a suspected case of suicide, however, the cause as to why he took the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
The CRPF trooper identified as constable Manoj Malik, was a resident of Samastipur in Bihar.
His body has been sent for a post-mortem and an investigation is on, the police said.
Meanwhile, a CRPF personnel died after his service rifle went off accidentally in Srinagar on Monday evening.
Officials said that the CRPF man Sachin Yadav of 04 BN DCOY posted at Hafta Chinar area died after his service rifle went off accidentally.
They said that he was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
