An inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was shot dead by suspected militants in the Nowgam area of the summer capital Srinagar on Tuesday evening.
An official said that the militants fired at and critically injured the CID inspector, Pervaiz Ahmad Dar when he was returning after offering prayers at the Kanipora area of Nowgam.
