A leopard was captured alive in Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, said Wildlife Department.
Officials said that they received information about the presence of a leopard around the Kalshipora area of Khan Sahib.
A team of the Wildlife Department reached the place where the leopard was seen and captured the wild animal alive, the officials added.
As per the officials, the wild animal will be taken to a safe place and will be provided safe passage into its natural habitat.
Pertinent to mention that the Wild Life department has successfully captured a number of leopards in past weeks after several attacks left the people of the valley in an atmosphere of fear.
The officials said that the department has asked its men to remain alert at every place where they receive information about the leopard.
