In the third incident of its kind in the past 8 days, masked gunmen robbed a Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Budgam and decamped with cash and a 12-bore rifle.
Witness said, “Five masked men entered the J&K Bank branch at Chandapora around afternoon and decamped with Rs 2 lakh and a 12-bore rifle from the security guard along with CCTV system”.
Officials said the police have registered a case and have launched an investigation.
This is the third incident of bank robbery in Kashmir in the past 8 days. On March 16, masked gunmen robbed cash from a Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank in the Parimpora area of summer capital Srinagar.
On March 12, a Grameen Bank branch at Kunzer in Baramulla’s Tangmarg has been robbed of Rs 2.24 lakh. Police are yet to make arrests in all three bank loot cases.
