2 wounded govt soldiers die in Kashmir.

An Indian paramilitary officer and an Army soldier, who were wounded in separate insurgent related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir last week, succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday.

Assistant sub-inspector of the Central Reserve Police Force Netrapal Singh, who got injured in a grenade attack at Ganderbal on December 23, died at a hospital in Srinagar, local police said. This has taken the death toll of paramilitary troopers in the grenade attack to two as a soldier had succumbed to his injuries a day after the attack.

Army Havildar A K Tomar breathed his last at the Army’s 92 base hospital here on Monday, local officials said.

They said Tomar had sustained grievous injuries during a gunfight with insurgents in the Kanigam area of Shupian on Friday. Two insurgents had died in the operation.
