177 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir recorded 177 fresh cases of coronavirus, taking the infection tally to 3,37,263 on Thursday, while no new death due to the virus was reported from the region in the past 24 hours, officials said.

Out of the fresh cases, 37 were from the Jammu division and 140 from the Kashmir division, they said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest of 58 cases followed by 29 cases in Baramulla district.

There are 1,697 active cases in region, while the number of recovered patients was 3,31,089, the officials said.

The death toll due to the pandemic was 4,477 as no fresh fatality was reported in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the officials said there were 49 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) as no fresh case was reported since Wednesday evening.

As per the daily information bulletin 4,534,386 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 6,910 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,697 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,092,638 persons have completed the surveillance period and 428,664 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 17,742,524 samples are available. Out of 17,742,524 the number of samples tested negative stands at 17,405,261 while as 337,263 have tested positive, among them 1,697 persons are active, 331,089 persons have recovered and 4,477 persons have died.
